Ani C. Mooney, LCSW, LCADC

Picture
Ani is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, working in the field of mental health for 15 years. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University. Ani holds a Post-Master’s certificate in Clinical Practice with Adolescents from New York University, and specializes in the area of substance abuse, holding a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification.

Ani has a passion for working with adolescents and young adults who struggle with mental illness and/or addictions. Ani believes in the importance of supporting not only the individual but the entire family, as all family members are affected by these challenges. She has extensive experience in these areas, having worked in various settings such as inpatient and outpatient services, community mental health agencies, in-home services, and high school settings. She utilizes a variety of interventions, based on each client/family's needs. Ani frequently incorporates techniques from Dialect-Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). When working with families in a therapeutic setting, her theoretical approach stems from Bowen Family Systems Theory.

"Life, undoubtedly, comes with many challenges. Sometimes we feel we have lost our way and are no longer on a path we envisioned for ourselves. Times like these can be accompanied by internal distress and frequent crises. My goals are to provide a comforting and safe space to explore these emotions and help you set yourself free. I look forward to connecting with you!"
