Sandtray Therapy Sand tray is a powerful medium, and safe containing space to can create worlds or scenes that symbolically represent situations and feelings. The experience of creating and processing sand trays facilitates moving beyond places of feeling stuck and allowing shifts & transformation. Sandtray work involves the therapeutic use of choosing & arranging miniatures in the sand, offering a metaphorical and projective mode of therapy where the sand tray and miniatures become the medium of communication. The therapist takes on a witness role during creation, holding space while promoting a sense of emotional safety so that challenges & memories can be held, supported, and healed.
Therapeutic Art Art is an expressive healing modality with forms that are as varied as the individuals that create it. Whether creating mandalas, collaging, painting, coloring, mask making, etc. art is a beautiful way to express oneself and work through challenging thoughts, feelings & situations. When utilizing therapeutic art, it's more about the process of creating and meaning behind the art that the product, so specific art talent or previous experience is not required!
EMDR EMDR (eye movement desensitization & reprocessing) is a type of therapy that supports the brain's natural tendency toward healing. EMDR is an 8 phase treatment modality that includes practices for soothing & grounding, processing unhealed memories/past experiences, and enhancing positive perspectives.
Meditation & Mindfulness Meditation, breathing practices, mindfulness exercises & other soothing & grounding strategies are wonderful ways to calm & settle the mind.
