Natalia Olarte (she/her) is a Bi-lingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker and clinician at Morris County Play Therapy. Natalia works with children, adolescents, and families applying a variety of clinical interventions to help them meet their goals. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Social Work at the University of Saint Elizabeth and earned her Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) at Rutgers University’s School of Social Work. She has been supporting children, adolescents, and families for over a decade in various settings, since graduating with her MSW. Currently, Natalia is pursuing her RPT (Registered Play Therapist) credentialing.
Natalia believes the most important and healing aspect of therapy is the therapeutic relationship that is built between client and therapist. Natalia has a passion and background for working with individuals who have experienced trauma. Natalia focuses on educating, supporting, and using therapeutic techniques to help children and their families recover after a traumatic experience. Natalia also has many years of experience working with individuals with anxiety and depression. Natalia is a Certified in TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) Therapist. She also uses behavioral activation, stress management, and strength-based interventions, as well as working with caregivers and/or important others to collaborate for the needs of the client.
In Natalia's work with younger children, she uses child-centered approaches in the playroom to help and support children as they work through feelings, behaviors, and situations. Natalia also has training & experience applying Synergetic Play Therapy, harnessing the regulating effects of the nervous system through breath-work & other calming strategies.
